I think the concept really depends on the skill of the driver and the venue, and I think most would agree.  Drag cars with 9 billion horsepower are fine ... they just go straight.  As long as it's aligned well, a novice driver can hold a tame drag car in the lane.  Tires are most important here ...

I assume that with everything there are exceptions to the rule. What confuses me is; If I were to figure out how to drive smoother would I become faster or is it just what I have become accustomed to. Like everything else, I tend to do it bassackwards, or at bare minimum against the grain.

Mine is:

Slow in, Fast out

If you go too deep into a corner, your going to scrub off a lot of time due to the fact that the car is either going to push (understeer) or rotate (oversteer), and you'll have to spend that time correcting it.  If you go a little slower into the corner, it'll give you a better corner exit speed for the straight ahead. </description>

I'm a very competitive person.  I've seen some touge runs, one in particular of Jason running against an EVO, WRX and finally a 350Z.  And I know if it was me I'd be driving pretty hard.



Now I've read the rules of the touge and understand all of them are there for ours and everyone else's safety.
