i have 3 qts of amsoil in my garage... and i need to do my oil change before i drive 6 hours to mississippi for the thanksgiving dinner

i thought about using the castrol edge for a while since they have it at walmart... but then the $10 difference is kinda high when you can have the mobil 1 for $20.

i dont have time to wait for the amsoil to be delivered to me...

what would you use?

i do have 2 gallons of mix match oils in my garage...

2qts of Royal purple/
3qts of Amsoil
2qts of mobile 1 5w30
1qts of mobile 1 5w20
8qts of green racing oil (100%bio degradeable racing oil)

should i mix? lol

i need 0w30 which none of them are other than that green racing oil.

I'd be very wary of mixing synthetics. AMSOIL is a 100% full synthetic where standard Mobil1 is not. I'd say use the AMSOIL and mix in some Mobil 1 Extended Performance of the same weight.

Or, just buy some standard Mobil 1 for the trip and switch it to AMSOIL when you get back.

dont mix and match weights.and i wouldnt recommend mixing brands either, but if they are the same weight it would be better than mixing weights

I just switched over to Rotella T from Royal Purple.

Or go spend $20 on a jug of oil and then change it to some amsoil when you get back



And matt i know, i replaced the oil in my car friday before we left and my turbo burned it up by sunday after driving so hard. I was just trying to make you sweat

i would love to but the fact that its made from biodegradeable s*** and from animal fat.... i dunno cars on koni challange use it and love it but something about it....

i used it on my pontiac and its awesome.

but then again my evo isnt a pontiac

shiiiiid son. my pontiac dont leak coolant through its kidney.

and my pontiac is older than yours.



i ended up using the 5w30 mobile 1 i found in the garage... apparently i had 7 qt+ of it in the corner...

its amazing how you can feel the way car drives after a different oil.
